Taking screenshots

Screenshots are often the perfect method for illustrating a problem or for highlighting a particular visual element on a computer display.

There are different tools and techniques for capturing screenshots depending on the device you’re using.

Windows PC

Windows has a built-in screenshot tool called Snipping Tool. This a great application which enables you to capture parts of the screen, highlight them, and annotate them.

Apple MacOS

Apple have a comprehensive guide on their website for taking screenshots of the entire screen, part of the screen, a single application, or a menu.

Apple iOS

Press the home and power buttons simultaneously to screenshot the entire screen. These screenshots are saved to your Photos app.


The process for taking screenshots on Android differs between manufacturers. You will have to search online for the right process for your device.
